Computer Crash…It Happens!

A computer crash is always a 'horror'. If you haven't experienced this, you can have no appreciation for the hardships it causes. Probably, the first hardship is at the emotional level. Just think of dedicating yourself to a particular computer for a period of time....a year or two. Then, consider all the time you spent making settings, downloading particular programs that are meaningful to your work. Next, think of all the wonderful data you've created, stored and refer to often while performing your work on the computer. Being affected at the emotional level is a sure thing when all that gets lost in a millisecond. It takes time to recover from your feelings and then to come to an understanding of what's happened to you. Next, you have to develop a plan for getting over it....find a way to begin again.

Perhaps the easiest thing to do will be place the non-working computer in the nearest trash can and go to Wal-Mart where a variety of computers await you. That would be a tempting way to a fresh start with your computer activities. I have to tell you that it may be the easiest, but it is not necessarily the most economical way. There's probably several more years of life left in the computer-gone-bad. There's a procedure called System Restore available for computer users. The instructions for the how-to-do-it usually comes with the computer at purchase. If you don't have the instructions, or the tools to work with, for a System Restore, look at your machine to locate identification information....model number and anything else labeled. Call the manufacturer and start the research in locating the restoration c.d.'s or the customer support program that will lead you through the restore.

Having had this experience a time or two...or three or four....myself, I've learned a little bit about avoiding the total collapse of my sanity and the complete loss of everything I'd worked for that went 'poof!' as the computer's electrical impulses went haywire. First, let me encourage you to go to Wal-Mart. Find the computer accessories department and buy an external hard drive that will connect to a port on your computer. Use this external hard drive to save you information on and to do back up with. Doing this means that you don't automatically loose your stuff. Everything you consider valuable in the way of data will be on the external hard drive and can be plugged in another computer. After the system restore, or when you've purchased a new computer, plug in the external hard drive to find your passwords, your memberships, your music, your pictures, your everything that was saved.

There is yet lots of work in getting set up with a restored or new computer....the restored computer is equal to a new one in that the internal hard drive is blank. You are starting all over in settings, installations, and anything else that you wish to have in your computer.

A very strong suggestion here is to install virus and spyware protection immediately after getting an Internet signal to you machine. The cold, cruel truth is that creatures from an evil real world have invaded cyberspace. They are ready to choke your machine and steal your information just because they can. Of course, they always hope to benefit by their stolen goods in some way....perhaps by getting access to your checking account. So, it's a given that you install virus/spyware security immediately. When you've downloaded and installed your choice of security measures, go ahead and run the first scan. Don't be surprised to find some things already attached to your computer that you did not put there....tracking cookies are most common. This will verify and illustrate the need for protection.

There are both harmful and helping cookies. You along with your computer, have to decide which ones you want to live in your hard drive. Cookies help you when you go back to a website by storing your settings for you. For example, a cookie helps you stay logged into your favorite site so when you come back, you can get right down to business. instead of having to log in each time you go to a different page and return. Cookies can also be planted by someone other than yourself to retrieve information about you and how you use your computer.

You also need some software installed that will eliminate spyware that gets into your computer. These little 'mini programs' get stored on your computer by other websites or by information you download. Their job is to keep track of things you do on the Internet, and periodically pop up pages in front of your face in hopes you'll be impressed and want to buy something there and then. Spyware can slow your computer down dramatically, cause other programs to not work correctly--or at all--or crash your computer.

My suggestion is to use a free version of AVG Anti-Virus. This can be active protecting your computer while you search for something else if you wish to change programs. I found it to be very thorough and complete. AVG can be thought of as an all-in-one program. There's antivirus, antispyware, link scanner, update manager, email scanner and a resident shield. All of this is free to use. This is a great value which allows you to access the Internet without fear or worry. The upgrade is available if you desire it for some other features not included in the free version.

While making sure that you're going to be able to use your computer without a hassle, you may as well go ahead and deal with pop ups and adware. A great, highly recommended free adware program is available at http://www.lavasoft.com. And the pop up blocker is usually built into your browser, but it not, do a Google search for free pop up blockers. There's many to choose from.

Next comes the installation of a password manager. You know you can't remember all those passwords and who among thought to use the same one with all our programs, changing it universally every few months? I really don't recommend that because if, by some horror, your password were hacked, then it would open everything you thought you had protected by a password.

I, personally, depend on RoboForm. There is a free version which allows a limited number of password entries or there's the paid version which allows unlimited passwords. The RoboForm Password program is truly a service. It allows you to point at the site name you wish to visit which triggers RoboForm to go to the site, automatically insert your user name and password, and the page. And, RoboForm does this quickly. There are security measures built in with RoboForm....encryption, password generation and several more great features described on the sign up page. I use it and have had to download it several times after having computer problems. There has been no cost for the re-downloads. Oh, yes. There are reminders from RoboForm that automatically pop up at the appropriate times to tell you that new versions and/or updates are available. RoboForm, again, is very in-tune with the computer user's needs.

Tools of the trade....that's what all these software items provide you. If you intend to be online, you have to be prepared for the worse while enjoying the best out there. I think it's awful that the most invaded computers are the one that our children use for music downloads, game playing, chatting, etc...all the things they like to do are found on the websites most guilty of infecting their computers with bad stuff.

The items mentioned above are only the ones I use. If you look at http://www.download.com, or http://www.filehippo.com, you find countless of quality software items that allow you to use them at no cost.

It is my hope that this short commentary on computer usage will be of help and encouragement for you. The frustrations of things going bad can be overcome by a little trouble up front.

Southern Marketing Company Prepares for Major Product Release

Magnolia Marketing CoOperative is a marketing company established in September of this year by two ladies from Mississippi, Micki Scheuerman and Dorothy Allen, who have dubbed themselves as The Evergreen Magnolias. They smiled as the company was tagged, "Marketing with Hospitality."

I'm sitting here with my lips poked out. Surly, I share common genes with Rodney Dangerfield. I get no respect. Worse, I get no recognition. Worse than that, I really am trying! Gee, I am so misunderstood, misused and abused.

I'm just plain out pitiful but it doesn't seem to register with anybody. My repetitioius goof-ups bring lots of red faced embarrassment for me and big belly-laughs from others, but no respect...no appreciation for effort...just smiles of entertainment from those who happen to pass by.

Bad weather patterns, equipment failures, life pulling at my mind -- all of these are pieces and parts of my failures to excell. Poor Rodney. His circumstances were no better. How did he keep going?

Poor Rodney?? No! He actually got paid for being rediculously incompetent. Not so with me. Poor old me. I'm so pathetic.

O.K., so I'm not perfect....well, very far from perfect. But, no one's been harmed (I hope). Growth, however reluctantly, has taken place. I'm still here. There's still time. Home Business Professionals are People, Too

A few my co-workers have joined me, lately, in studying eMail...the how-to-do its. This study, and these co-workers, have brought me to a higher level in understanding about the use and misuse of eMail. I can now voice what 'it' is that has been bugging me for months about the eMails coming through the inbox in a steady stream. I say "coming through" because they don't stay long enough to become saved, stored, activated, or , truthfully, even read. Now I can give voice as tp why my responses are so quick and definite.

Many of you are attempting to get a home business off the ground by doing eMail marketing. It seems that my calling, at least one of them, is to help Newbies get their feet planted solidly in the ground of Internet Marketing. That's why I want to tell you that some eMails are just irritating right up front because the subject line is a turn-off. I get no further than a glance at the subject line and/or the salutation before my finger jumps all over the delete button. How do the following statements make you react?

"You Must"...oh, no! I 'must' do only what I determine to do...don't be telling me what I must do!

"Dear Friend"....What? Do I know you? I think I'd know it if we were friends.

"You have won" or "Inherited" or "loan me your checking account to get money out of my country"....Are there people in our world who actually believe that stuff?

"Re: Inquiry"....What Inquiry? I didn't inquire about anything. That's a reverse marketing technique.

"Using letters to represent words"...TGIF is about the only one I know. The rest of them are just gibberish. The assumption by the writer is that they are so important and so popular, that everyone who is anyone will know what their abbreviations represent.

"Size Matters"...since when? That's getting pretty close to porno. News flash! Not every little blue pill is for male enhancement!

"PayPal requests verification"...that's a fishing expedition with someone waiting to rip you off.

"Trusting in God"...Please don't get me wrong here. Our Belief system is the very foundation by which we function. I resent, and extremely so, anyone who uses God to further their chances of making a sale.

"Thank You"...Huh? I didn't do anything for that person and now, I'm not reading the email, either!"

"This System Really Works"....Well, have they been advertising a system that didn't really work?

"Reserve Your Spot"...Do you think your request for membership would be rejected? Are they truly going to deny membership because their 'list is too long'?

My email no-no list is growing. I believe that marketers use such items as those listed above for one of three reasons:

1. They really are crooks and think the reader is an idiot.
2. They think that tricks and misleading comments will make sales.
3. They fail to realize that both the seller and the buyer are nothing more, or less, that actual, real people.

We all have likes, dislikes: We have money or we don't: We need things for survival: We want stuff just for the sake of having it: The 'real people' list goes on forever.

Now, here's the kicker. When I want something, or need it, I'm going to find it myself. The seller of what I am going to buy doesn't have to find me. I will find the seller because I'm about to spend some money on something that I decided to buy. No one decided that for me. I wasn't tricked or scammed into making a purchase. If the sales pitch is deceptive in the way it describes my product, I'll find another seller. You are a real person. Can you relate to that?

If you are building a home business and you haven't come to terms with the idea of being where people are looking (we're talking search engines) for the item you're selling, then you need to rethink your marketing approach. It has been very good for me to be part of a marketing network called The Crazy Foxes Internet Marketing Specialists. We actually 'work' together while swapping information. We're all learning and growing with each other. One of the members published one of the my chat entries on a Veretekk member's Free Page. It's called System4Organization

In reading over the chat notes, I see again that someone has lost their sign up url.

One of the first things I ask for help with when I started doing something on the Internet was 'organization'. The information piles up so fast that there needed to be some kind of system to keep up with what was there...to be able to put your hands on it without too much trouble.

The response I was given was that there is no system. Everyone figures it out for themselves. Well, that's O.K.....except for newbie's who haven't begun to understand the need for some type of retrieval system. It takes a lot of trial and error with various methods...meanwhile they are losing their stuff.

That's why I'm exposing my 'system' to you guys. Maybe it will help. If not, ignore it. Nothing lost.

Dorothy Allen's "System" 4 Organization

I use notepad...it's clean, flexible, easy to use. I started with a folder called 'My Info Stuff'...name it something that you'll remember. Inside that folder are other folders. They are labeled according to the type of information they contain. For instance, there's one labeled 'Resources'.

Inside 'Resources' I file the notepads appropriate to that file. One notepad may be labeled, 'Resources I use' Another might be labeled, 'Resources to Investigate'.

Now, on the note pad itself, is listed the 'Name of Resource' (Something you make up that you will recognize when you see it). Under the name of the resource, enter the url to the resource, the username and password if you had to sign up for it, date signed up (or used), where used (part of blog, website, ad-campaign, etc.)

Use the same notepad for the next item...here's what makes it easy... List your next item either above or below the present listing, depending on alphabetical order. Most of us know the ABC's, so when I'm looking for PayPal, I know it's going to be down the list about half way listed with other resources I've used beginning with the letter 'P'.

I usually put a dotted line between the individual resources just to help my vision realize that one listing has ended and another began.

There's no end to the number of folders that can be created and no end to the notepads within each folder if more categorization is needed.

As stated above, this is not the 'only way' to organize your information, but it is 'a way'.

Lots of people look at that word, communication, and wonder what all the big to-do is about. Communicate. Big Deal! Open your mouth and speak...or, take up the pencil and write...or, sit at the computer and send an email...or...

It's true that many methods of communication exist today. The various ways in which to communicate are becoming more each day with the evolution of technology. But, just because there is a physical means to communicate does not mean that communication has taken place.

The definition of the word, communication, tells us that the act of communicating means the passing of information from one mind to another mind. So, regardless of the effort being made, if the information is not actually passed to another mind, you have not communicated.

With our young children, we wait patiently and insistently for them to receive the information being transmitted to them as we repeatedly try to communicate the word 'no'.

For us, as marketers, the need to communicate is fundamental to the success of our business. Telephoning, emailing, blasting ads, rotating in traffic exchanges...all of these are simply ways in which we are trying to communicate. Getting someone's attention first... having someone recognize that we are attempting to transmit information... and then, to have that someone actually receive the information we are transmitting.... for us, that is communication at it's highest level.

What the someone actually does, or doesn't do, with the information we've communicated is, in a way, a communication of it's own. There will be a response to the received information. The buying of our product is the highest level of positive response to our communication. Taking no action at all concerning our information is the highest level of negative response. It may not be possible for the marketer to have proof of the response level in-between those two extremes. Chances are, the receiver of the information actually thinks about what has been communicated and then puts that thought process to one side as they consider other communications.

It is said that a sale usually doesn't take place until after the 6th, 7th, 8th time of being exposed to the information. With that understood, it is to the marketers best interest to continue efforts at communication to the same market group for some period of time before changing direction. The addition of some kind of positive reinforcement may aid in the reception of transmitted information... something like a downloadable freebie or a certificate of discount.

I hope this bit of 'education' concerning communication will be helpful to other Work at Home Moms such as myself.

Those systems are great,but...

A large percent of my readers will be aware of one or more marketing systems which are available to them. Each of these systems can rightfully claim to be very good. Each one can, in fact, aid you in the promotion of your product or service. Their system is usually accompained with customer service and each has a built in way for you to promote that service along with your own product.

I, in particular, think that Veretekk is the only way to go where marketing systems are concerned. Having said that, I need to let you know that I'm not unaware of the rather large learning curve presented to Newbies as they begin to apply the Veretekk system.

Today, I did something that has been a goal for a long time. It may not seem like much to the reader, but to me, it was a major accomplishment.

What did I do? I made a webpage containing a downloadable link! Giving that downloadable link to someone would allow them access to the downloadable information. That Information (which I've also learned to create) can be read and deleted or saved for future use.

Have you thought about how knowledge is built upon previous knowledge? I think that many people fail to achieve their work at home goals because they begin dealing with unknowns and can't seem to work themselves back to the basics to get the fundamental knowledge necessary for building a home business.

Now that creating a downloadable link has been added to my arsenal of website building abilities, many options have appeared as to how my website can be used. This is a major accomplishment about which I am delighted.

Today is posting day for this blog. And, by the way, I do thank you for the interest you've shown over time by reading the information. We've tried to stress on things needed to be known by Newbies and by Work at Home Moms.

But, today, my mind is blank. I'm sitting here at the computer with fingers twitching, ready to tell you something...I haven't the slightest idea of what to say to you. So, I thought that maybe this would be a good chance to become better acquainted.

It took a while for me to realize that all these cyber-acquaintances that you make when dealing with the Internet....well, they're just people, too. It's not just a faceless crowd out there who may or may not support your Internet business. Ever sense that thought struck home, I've been trying to find a way to get closer to the folks I mail letters to each week, or month. I bet you guys could teach me a thing or two. Shoot! I may even know some stuff that you'd like to know...but we'll never know what that is unless we become close enough on the friendship side to talk to each other about it...I mean really talk….not sell stuff.

I would like very much to be a part of your circle of friends even though we'll probably not ever become introduced in the physical here and now. I know that for you to accept me, even as an acquaintance, you'll need to know a little more about me. So, that's how we'll spend this time together today. I'm hoping that you will respond with a hello to let me know we've actually crossed paths out there in the virtual world.

Biographically, I am a Southern retired mother to 3 and granny to six with attitudes and opinions gathered during a life fully and well lived. I seek fun and playfulness at every turn during every day and have given up the act of making excuses about the things I do since I have now reached an age which allows my actions to be done without the need of permission from other sources. Three years ago, a hurricane named Katrina played havoc with the lives of us who are in this geographical location. Thankfully, no lives were lost in this immediate community, but lives were changed. Jobs ceased to exist. Families had to go on welfare. Relocation to other states, even nations, was required to earn a salary for survival.

We flipped the light switch and nothing happened! That was a shock to all, more so to the young who had never been without electricity before. Bread, milk, water, gasoline, air conditioning (it was late August with 100 and above degree heat while an infestation of love bugs added to the misery) ceased to exist. Ice became treasured above all else. FEMA came in and, much to our disappointment was useless in aiding actual survival. Money, even if you get some, doesn't buy the things that really count.

The young ones learned, and the older ones relearned, how to live with nature instead of fighting it. My family began a tradition of having a week each year of living without electricity, automobiles, phones, etc. The young ones actually look forward to this now and are putting some thought into avoiding dependency on those things which are outside their control.

It was during that time that the light went on in my brain...computer work at home...no office required...lap top...world wide communication...Wow! What a concept! Make your income from home on a computer! So, I got a computer, learned how to turn it on and have been doing home work ever since.

Opps! I went off on that tangent whole heartedly. I suppose the new storm, Gustav, which is threatening to enter our area in a few days has my mind pointed in that direction.

Back to you and me...to things we know that could be of help to each other...to forming a real friendship...to continued communication. That's way too much for one email isn't it?

Looking at the Business Product, Once Again

Much has been made of the product which is to be sold by the Work at Home Mom when beginning the Home Business. We approach the subject once more in order to make a point.

In a healthy, sustained, profitable home business, the product is one that is desired by people outside the marketing community. It is a product that people have formed an emotional attachment with and one which they intend to purchase again and again.

The Work at Home Mom will do well to seek a product that people will buy: the product, itself, is the important issue. There is no future for the Internet Marketer, if the purchase of the product depends upon some affiliate payment plan attached to it.

The perfect product is one that stands out and is sought by large numbers of people. The perfect product may be slightly diffent from anything else being offered. A perfect product is one that stands out and has resales from satisfied customers year after year. The term 'purple cow' is familiar to many Internet Marketers in that a cow is ordinary enough, but, the one difference, that of being purple, makes that particular cow a perfect product. It can become popular and bring large numbers of sales simply because it has a slight difference from other very similar products.

Many Home Businesses plan on makeing their income based on sponsoring other Internet Marketers, who in turn intend to sponsor other Internet Marketers. The whole income structure is based on sponsoring. The product is meaningless. The income is produced through sponsorships and has nothing to do with the sale of a product.

A product of superior quality may make a large number of sales for the Work at Home Mom as that product is released to the public. But, replication is extremely easy so that soon many more similar products will emerge for sale probablly at lower prices. If or when the Internet Marketer has to begin explaining why their product cost more than the competition, there is a problem with the product that will require a major overhaul of the sales plan. The salesperson cannot stress the superiority of the product because of replication. There will have to be another reason the product should sell for a higher price.

Before becoming deeply involved with a company and its product, the affiliate home business person should understand exactly where the income initiates. Ask the question, if the recruiting stops, does the cash flow also stop? It is not leagal to be paid only for recruiting people. If the product involved would not be sold without there being a compensation plan for affiliates, chances are the business will not be dependable. The

Work at Home Mom's income should come from the sale of a product and not from the recruitment of others to sell the product.

A product that should be avoided by the Work at Home Mom is that of Education. Education is free online. The sale of an educational program online will not withstand the scruiteny of investigation. The Government asks, would anyone of average intelligence buy the product if there was not an income opportunity attached? Education is free, therefore it would not be a product for sale.

A good product plus a duplicatable sales method would be the best choice for the Work at Home Mom. A system of this sort requires a team of like minded people working together to create success in the home business.

Work at Home Mom creating a home business. Relationships, integrity, even love all have to be part of the duplicatable system making up the Internet Marketing Business.

It is absolutely nescessary to have like-minded people who have the same principles of behavior working toward the same goal if the Internet Business is to be successful for the Work at Home Mom. When recruiting for a downline, it should be remembered that people are not numbers. Each person has a value that will add to or take away from the Internet Business in question. Recruit people, not numbers.

Newbies, Work at Home Moms and all other Internet Marketers are consistently on the watch for the perfect company. Most often, the search ends with the choice of a good company rather than the perfect one which is still to be discovered.

There are several things to consider before deciding to participate as a distributor for any particular company. One of these is the length of time a company has been in the Internet Marketing industry. The timing of the entrance into a business can be critical depending, mostly, on the type of business it is.

Many Newbies and Work at Home Moms may reach out to a company which provides a service rather than a consumable product. It should be noted that service providers have a short life expectancy for profitability within the Internet Marketing field. Providing a particular service can be very profitable at the very beginning of the service. As time goes by, the profit margin will slip downwards until it ceases to be profitable at all. There are several reasons for this. Any one of these reasons result in the same lack of profit:

1. the market becomes saturated, so that there are no longer individuals who desire to receive the service.
2. Other businesses have begun to offer the same service in a better way or for less money.
3. The service becomes obsolete with a newer, better service becoming available.

The selling of new technology is another type of business opportunity that is short lived. Regardless of how good the new technology is in the beginning, it will be replaced by something newer and better within a short time period. A Newbie or a Work at Home Mom who enters the business of selling new technology in the very beginning of the business may do very well financially, but the trend will fade in the near future. The item of exciting new technology for sale will soon become a free product listed in all the giveaway programs.

Definition of 'Affiliation': "a social drive to be associated with others in 'interdependent relationships', involving 'using others for help or support' without making them responsible for problems: Adoption; association or reception as a member in or of the same group."

Upon reading that definition, it was apparent that no better description of the CrazyFox Blueprint Marketing Network is available. It is a group of likeminded people working together to accomplish the same Internet marketing goal. It also becomes evident that one person cannot do everything. Successful Company Does Not Equal Successful Distributor

Today, we are speaking of those things required by 'you' to be successful as an Internet marketer..not the things required by a company to be successful.

The distributors, or affiliate members, of any company are the life blood of that company. They are the ones who use and sell the company's products that allow the company to be profitable. Work at Home Moms will find many companies making statements about their great financial success.

A company can truthfully claim high income for itself while those who distribute for that company may not be able to say that they have earned income. A pay plan that rewards the distributors has to be present. The company must have management experience with integrity before the distributor can expect income.

Members, or distributors, may not take time to investigate the reality of the pay plan offered by a company. Work at Home Moms often feel hurried and don't take the time to read the Policies and Procedures closely. Later, they can feel cheated when realizing the dollar payouts were calculated in a way to benefit the company far more than the distributor.

The Policies and Procedures presented by the company for the distributor's agreement may be ignored by the distributor altogether. One main reason for this is the legalese language in which most of these statements are written. Unintelligible words may be strung out for several pages with various sections referring back and forth to other sections. It may be almost impossible for the average Work at Home Mom to understand exactly what they are agreeing to when signing on the dotted line.

The contract - or policy statement - can be worded in such a way that the company can eliminate the distributor and/or the pay plan without notice and without reason. Few distributors can afford to have their income depend upon a company which has this written into their Policy.

The track record for MLM companies is made public by a group called MLM Watchdog. Work at Home Moms can investigate the company in which there is interest. They should be looking for a company which has demonstrated integrity in it's dealings with the public and with it's distributors.

If the historical record of a company includes numerous bankruptcies, chances are this company is not one in which the Work at Home Mom will want to place their trust.

What Shall My Product Be?

It was a one-time pleasure to speak with him by phone as I reached an end of his program training. I was impressed with Mr. Dloghy, his program and the information that has proven to be true. These are reasons enough to pass it on to any Newbie who is attempting to build a home business, especially the Work at Home Mom who is starting a new home business.

This article has to do with Product. There are a couple of things to consider when choosing a product or service. A common misconception is that a marketer automatically loves their product. Choosing a product based simply on the marketer's personal feelings toward that product is a major mistake.

Having information from two sources can result in choosing a good product. First, find an existing product which is already popular and which has a good sales record. Next, find the market to which this product is being sold. The Work at Home Mom can feel fairly safe in choosing a product already being successfully sold and in choosing the identified market to which it is already being sold. The success for the marketer will not come from either the product or the specific market, but in the specific marketing campaign. Good marketing can sell a product, especially to a market already proven to be receptive.

There is a conflict of feelings here. I am hesitant to approach this subject, yet, I am in a hurry to tell anyone who is new to the Internet and/or Internet marketing some of the discoveries and lessons learned from personal experiences. Coming to realize that the subject is constantly on my mind and knowing that, every day, more people are stumbling around out there as targets of the unscrupulous, I've decided to proceed with the subject area.

It will take some time for the Newbie to realize that they've been taken advantage of, or have received wrong/false information. The Newbie comes into cyberspace seeking direction, support, and encouragement. Having no knowledge in the area of Internet marketing places them in the position of having to consider anything/everything told to them. They have no choice but to prove each statement made to them to be true or false.

Then, there's the language of the Internet. All of us are said to be speaking English but the average person's vocabulary doesn't include the words (and slang) of the experienced Internet user. The Newbie exists in a state of confusion, misunderstanding and frustration beginning the first day of their marketing experience.

Without previous knowledge in the area, a Newbie can easily be misled and may find themselves involved in totally useless situations. Some of the 'businesses' out there hardly qualify for the title of 'business' except by the person who is pushing that business to the next Newbie willing to invest.

When there is a new and uneducated person in the area of marketing on the internet, that person immediately becomes a prospect (someone likely to purchase product or service) for every other marketer, website builder and how-to-do-it trainer. Every sales technique known to man will be used to relieve the Newbie of his/her money, time and energy. Is there any wonder that there's over 97% failure rate from those who make a start in the marketing field?

There are many honorable, trustworthy people on the Internet. Maybe the majority of marketers are good guys. Perhaps it's the loudness, the ruthless efforts, the never ending pulling at the Newbie by the minority of marketers that magnify their perceived presence on the Internet. Regardless, the Newbie is a target who can easily be swayed. I have developed a maternal attitude toward Newbies and wish to protect them.

And so, dear Newbie, this article is dedicated to you.

The message to you is:

1. 'Beware!', 'Look closely before you leap'.
2. 'Ask Questions'.
3. 'Demand Proof'.
4. 'Search Google'.
5. 'Read Scam Reports'.

The advice to you is to immediately find someone who can be trusted and seek their advice whenever problems pop up.

Keep Your Computer Running Fast and Clean

A computer is the major tool for the Home Business operated by a Work at Home Mom. The computer is a machine, and just like any other piece of equipment, eventually it will need repair or even replacing. We've all heard the stories about computer crashes, slow downs, lost programs, failure to boot up, etc. There are periodic maintenance techniques that can be performed by the computer operator to prolong the usefulness of the computer.

Keeping the computer clean is extremely important. If not cleaned on a timely basis, it can bog down, run slow, and even freeze up. An automobile reacts the same way when denied it's periodic maintenance. The impatient work at home mom may not enjoy taking the time to do these things, but not doing them will cause computer problems that delay the development of the home business for long periods of time.

Before doing any of the maintenance procedures, backups need to be made of the most important information stored on the computer. Backing up the files cannot be stressed enough. Again, the work at home may not wish to take the time to perform backup. The home business can be ruined is all the files are lost. The information can be lost with no chance of recovery in an instant. Back up the files of importance often.

There is software you can download at no cost that will act as very good cleaners for the computer. The first recommendation is CCleaner. Download, install, and run periodically to remove some of the garbage that accumulates with everyday computer usage.

Another piece of software that is thought highly of, also at no cost, is Eusing Registry Cleaner . This is very good for speeding up the computer by removing invalid entries from old files and software that may have once been on the hard drive.

There are other maintenance routines that are of utmost importance. One of these is ScanDisk, located among the items that were installed on the computer as it was purchased. ScanDisc scans the hard drive to recognize errors there. Another item in maintenance is Degrag. Running this software scans the hard disk and re-files the fragmented files that have become scatter. Both ScanDisc and Defrag can be found in the computer's programs, usually in the System Tools list.

When a web page is pulled up, an image of that page is stored in a temporary folder. That folder is called Cache. Delete the contents of this temporary folder often for better computer performance.

The very simple technique of restarting the computer often during the day helps keep it running smoothly. One major benefit from restarting the computer is that it refreshes the memory. Deleting the cookies can also speed up the operation.

Eliminating adware and spyware that get put into your computer, like 'mini programs', to track your computer activity allows for better operation and helps to maintain your privacy. Some of these mini programs send pop up pages that offer items for sale. This can be frustrating and interruptive. More to the point, these mini programs can bog down the computer and cause it to not work correctly or even to crash.

There are good spyware and adware programs available,too many to list here, at no cost. Here are two links that will aid in the search for protection from these things for your computer: Ad-Aware and Spybot - Search and Destroy.

There's one last area of protection should be approached here. Firewalls and Anti-Virus programs are absolutely necessary. It's not one world. The new work at home mom may find it inconceivable, but, believe it or not, there are those who delight in downloading items into other computer that damage files or wipe out everything stored on hard drive Other intruders invade a computer in order to steal personal information. These will keep the computer safe while the operator decides whether to continue their use or replace them with others. The main thing is to be protected.

The Work at Home Mom should take time to know her computer well. It is the backbone of the home business. If cared for, a computer will perform well consistently. There are a number of things to consider as you use the computer whether it for personal things or for work from home.

A few sugestions for computer usage:
* Use a surge protector for plugging into the electrical outlets.
* There is a right way to turn the computer on and off. Read the manual for this information. Rebooting the computer periodically will enhance its operation.
* There is required periodic maintenance for your computer to keep it functioning properly.
* The very first thing to do when setting up the computer for use on the Internet is to find and install good virus protection. Many good programs are free. Become comfortable with one or more of these before upgrading. It has been suggested to me to install two or more different programs. The reasoning is that one good program will protect the computer in multiple ways. The second good program may work well but differently from the first. By alternating the use of two or more programs, you get the best of all worlds. Don't try to run more than one at a time as this causes conflicts within the programs and with the computer.
* The computer generates heat as it works. Keep the machine cool by having it in a properly ventalented area.
* Keep liquids, salt and sugar away from the machine. Anything spilled into the computer can do harm but these three items are especially hurtful. * A work at home mom, may find themselves seated at the computer for long lengths of time. Avoid this as it will cause bodily harm . Find a stopping place, move around, do some bends (or housework) before getting back to a seated position. Repeat this often during your work session.
* Static electricity can build up which can cause harm to the computer. There are many ways to remove this build up. I use dryer softener sheets to wipe over the surfaces. There are many other ways, but this works for me.
* The type of internet connection you use will determine the speed with which you can use the Internet. After considering the options, you have to choose one that is right for you when thinking of your location, price, speed and what use you intend to make of the Internet. It has proven that there are periods of the day when any connection will be slower than at other times. Whenever there are huge numbers of people around the world making connections at the same time, the speed is slower.
* A must have, for the Work at Home Mom is a good printer with lots of ink and paper.
* Most computers come with an instruction manual. Read and practice the suggestions given there. Keep the manual handy for future reference.
* The identification numbers on your equipment, such as serial numbers and maintenance tags are important. File this information along with the warantee, so that you can get to it when needed.
* As you begin to work from home, you will be creating many password protected accounts. Be prepared for this by installing a password protection program that will record and remember these passwords for you. If a user name or password for a program is lost, it can be extremely time consuming and frustrating to gain access to your account.
* Information will be gathered constantly while working from home. This data is of great value. A computer crash causing the loss of data can be devastating. Even the best computer operators have crashes now and then. To prevent the ultimate damage -- the loss of files -- set up a system of backing up or storing your information in a second place less likely to be affected by a computer crash. There are multiple ways to perform backup. One is to periodically put the information on a cd. Another is to upload files to a Web Storage site. My particular method of back up is to save my files, periodically, to a second external hard drive used specifically for this purpose. When I complete the act of saving the information there, I disconnect it from the computer. That hard drive can be plugged into another computer if needed, or just remain available until the next back up session.

As time goes by and the use of the computer continues, you'll add more items to the list above. These will be items considered by you as nescessary to the function of your particular At Home Business.

Within the last posting, you were asked to examine your attitude as a preparation for becoming a Work at Home Mom. We promised to suggest to you, in this posting, some physical preparations in that direction, also.

You may be a person who is anxious to make money from home in the very near future. It's only fair to tell you point blank that financially desperate individuals are not likely candidates as Internet Marketers. The first reason is that the financially desperate marketer will be tempted to hard sell any person within reaching distance. This action will create negative feelings from those people so that they will not be receptive to anything you may have to say in the future. Another reason is that the lack of immediate success in sales for the financially desperate marketer will create negative feelings within themselves concerning the whole marketing industry.

The new marketer must have dedication to the act of marketing, the willingness to learn from others who have been successful, and the patience of Job. So, frankly speaking, don't depend on your marketing activity for financial support until you actually begin to make money. There is money there and you will benefit largely but there is a learning curve. It takes time.

There are some physical preparations that you can make in preparation to actually performing your home business. The first, and very important, item is arrangement of your work space. Nothing elaborately expensive is needed and probably wouldn't serve your purpose, anyway.

The simplest kind of work space is the best. I used two 2-drawer filing cabinets with a piece of plywood laid on top. It is so convenient that instead of buying a larger desk when more space was needed, I just bought another 2- drawer filing cabinet along with another piece of plywood and made an L shaped workspace. It's great. That takes care of desktop space and drawer space. Add a simple wall hung shelving unit and you're work space is complete.

A comfortable, healthy chair is a must. You may have to spend $100 or more, depending on how difficult you are to fit, but you cannot skimp on the chair. You'll work your home business for hours from there. You’ll actually do yourself physical harm if the chair doesn't allow you correct posture while sitting.

This work space must be located in a well ventilated, well lit area. Your eyes will become strained if the lighting is not sufficient or if there is a glare from the computer screen. Ventilation is important because you will want to practice deep breathing exercises while working. This helps to abate fatigue. It also relaxes tight muscles and aids in keeping correct posture. Another very good reason for good ventilation is the heat put off by the computer. Heat will harm your computer. It needs to remain as cool as possible. You may even consider placing a small fan close by the computer to circulate the air better.

The result has been satisfaction and reward for those who are wholeheartedly participating in the project.

The network group for this group of work at home moms is called the Crazy Foxes. They began with an idea and a group of like minded individuals working toward the specific goal of marketing successfully with integrity. Presently, the Crazy Foxes are publicizing their existence and encouraging the participation of other people who share a common interest in the $200Blueprint program.

The Crazy Foxes are collecting meaningful information for the work at home moms. This information is published by the network to educate people within the group about a method of marketing that allows equal opportunity for success to those new to the marketing world as well as to those who have prior experience. Each person choosing to be part of the Crazy Fox network agrees to follow standard guidelines. These guidelines, or blueprints, take every person through the same set of activities and leading to a successful experience in marketing.

The network is growing daily. Individuals are finding it desirable to be part of a group that has integrity as a foundation on which to build their marketing skills. The group is evolving into a structured organization in which the members, themselves, produce the expertise and training needed by the less experienced members. A common goal with shared responsibility to produce financial reward for each participating member is molding a unique personality for the network. It is the sincere desire of the work at home moms who are networking with the Crazy Foxes that each member will go forward in time with experiences leading to health, wealth and happiness.

As a person desiring to begin working from home in order to make extra money, you may be surprised to find that the next step in moving toward your goal is not a physical activity. The next step is to check your attitude and adjust it if necessary. Your attitude, the way you approach situations, the way you respond to other people, the amount of self discipline you possess, the belief you have in yourself and in what you're about to do -- these are the foundation stones upon which yourwork at home business will be built.

The fact is that these building stones are not laid down by physical activity, but are put into place by thought and mental manipulation of ideas. This is an awakening time for many people approaching the work at home industry. They have to come to terms with the belief that nothing physical exists without first having been a thought. The builder of a successful work at home business comes to an understanding, that the thought, the mental design of the business, the plan for action derived from the thinking process, the clear mental image of the business built and functioning as the builder desires -- this is the strength of the business. Success or failure for any work at home mom depends her attitude.

A person has it within themselves to create a proper attitude. As with any new experience, this may feel strange or awkward in the beginning. Again, as with any new experience, the repetitious actions of performing the activity will soon become a part of the way you think.

Each time wakefulness occurs is the correct time to set the mood for the day to come, to count our blessings, to seek support and guidance from our Higher Power, to prioritize those tasks to be done, to set our faces into a smile, to hold our head high, and to step boldly, with confidence, into the first day of the rest of our lives.

Whatever your daily routine requires of you, wake up time is exactly when to set the mood for the coming day. Decisions are made to have a good day. An attitude of gratitude is assumed. Strength is gathered to accomplish the tasks of the day.

Release the joy residing inside and let a smile brighten the surrounding space. Rise up with a straight back, head high. Step boldly into the day which is there to be lived filled with happiness in simply being alive.

These things are not always done easily. It may take practice. A need for reminders may exist. But, not doing these things consistently can lead to failure, not only in the work at home business you are attempting to build but in living life happily to the fullest extent.

Having a good life is a decision. Define your good life. Decide to have it. Begin to put things, ideas, attitudes, actions, even other people, into the proper positions to let your good life happen. Good life, as well as a successful work at home business, is not an accident. It doesn't just happen. A good life is a way of living which comes from decisions being made and actions being taken that create the goodness in the life being lived.

You create your life -- it's all about being happy, healthy and wealthy. All these elements are tied together. The secret for being happy is inside you, just as is the key to being healthy. The word, wealthy, is a relative term but, again, the knowledge of how to become wealth is already inside you.

Life -- the living of it -- is the greatest of all educators. Our failed efforts in being happy, healthy or wealthy have created priceless knowledge for our use in the next effort.

With the assumption that your attitude is in good shape for building the life you desire and the work from home businesses you want, we plan to begin some actual physical activity in that direction with our next post.

Our last posting left us at the point where work at home moms had discovered that there were ways in which they could maintain their role as a stay at home mom while also contributing to the financial stability of the family. It was suggested that a Google search for information relating to working from home could possibly answer some questions. A warning may have been in order about getting too much information too early in the decision making process. One comes into contact with conflicting and misleading information that causes much frustration and confusion for someone just beginning to investigate the possibilities of working from home subject.

The decision to make money, and to do that by makeing money from home, should not be entered into lightly. One should first research to answer questions about the demands and the rewards that come with working from home to make money. While researching, one needs to become acquainted with the various opportunities and types of activities performed by others who have work from home careers.

There are many legitamate work at home jobs. Research can bring you face to face with a work at home business opportunity that suits your personality, your physical abilities and your level of mental stamina. Once you have become comfortable with work at home ideas, you can investigate more completely the demands placed on you and your family as you are deciding on a particular work at home business.

Our next posting will be based on the assumption that you have investigated possibilities and have made a decision concerning your ability and desire to make money by working from home. There will be, also, an assumption that you made a positive decision and are now attempting to discover what to do first. If this article seems somewhat slanted toward the interest of women, it is. It's about women, especially the work at home Moms, and some of the challenges faced by them in a world where responsibility and even survival rests upon their shoulders.

We're called 'stay at home Moms' but the actual terminology should be Work at home Moms. For one reason or another we've stepped away from salaried, public occupations that the conventional population consider security. We've come home to take care of family needs, or because we experienced health problems, or our company decided to downsize, or the ridiculous situation of the act of working costsit us more than we received in pay. There are lots of reasons why we found ourselves at home.

Being at home, away from the JOB, may have solved a few of the problems with which we were dealing. Now, we find a whole new batch of challenges, the biggest of which may be our financial status.

So, here we are. We're at home. We work at home in rearing children, caring for parents, cooking, cleaning, inventing entertainment, crating a good home environment, nurturing the flower garden, feeding the pets, and tightening the purse strings because we are earning no money. Working from home, as in wife, mother, homemaker, house keeper, etc., may have been a romantic idea but it may not be financially feasible.

How can that situation be fixed? Women, worldwide, have found a way. Being a work at home Mom now has a double meaning. Mom can take care of the home and she can solve the financial problems while doing it.
