Open Question: Sandra Reynolds a rip-off?
My daughter aged 4 last year won a local competition for the best wedding photo so my partner and i thought it would be a good idea to contact a local modelling agency. We went for Sandra Reynolds based in our home town of Norwich. There was an up front fee of £85 to cover the modelling shoot but we were told that there would be help on the day and the fee was to cover these costs. I arrived at the venue and was guided to a very cramped changing room with about 10 other children and parents. After very little input from the staff as to what was required from my daughter, she had 3 photo shoots in different outfits provided by ourselves consisting of maybe 15 shots. This was infront of the other parents and children with each lasting less than 3 mins. we were told it was to mimic a normal photo session but i disagree as i have friends in the business. We were hurried along like sheep as i have previously mentioned there were 10 young children to get through so many became irritable and this was clearly being noticed by the staff. The whole experience was not what i expected as we were under the impression it would be more intimate and personal. We were told someone would call within 2 weeks if successfull. Needless to say we weren't as my daughter didnt photograph well enough for their junior division but they did encourage us to try again later! Gut feeling i feel i was mislead and there are a lot of people outta pocket by these guys. Would of been better to pay for a photo session with a photographer and send in the results. Have you experienced the same? if so spread the word i consider myself a bit streetwise but these guys had me completely sucked in!

Open Question: Was Manny Villar ever really poor?
Was Manny Villar really ever poor?
AS I WRECK THIS CHAIR By William M. Esposo (The Philippine Star) Updated February 07, 2010 12:00 AM
“Nakaligo ka na ba sa dagat ng basura? (Have you bathed in a sea of garbage?)” is the opening line of the jingle of Nacionalista Party presidential candidate Manny Villar which is featured in a television commercial that attempts to project him as having been one of the poorest of the poor. But was Manny Villar really one of the poorest of the poor as what his advertising has been projecting?
A Chair Wrecker reader from Tondo who claimed to know the Villar family when they still resided there debunked that notion of Villar ever having been poor. This information was relayed to yours truly via our response email address.
The former Villar family Tondo neighbor cited reference points to support his assertion that Manny Villar was never really poor — including the claim that Villar’s father used to have a “nikaladong (stainless steel clad)” private Jeep.
During the 1950s, a nikaladong private Jeep is a status symbol in Tondo, definitely not the hallmark of a poor household.
Considering how Manny Villar has been dodging the serious issues pertaining to his use of public office in order to add immense benefits and profits to his businesses, your Chair Wrecker decided to do some investigating. Guess what Manny Villar’s online bio revealed:
“Manuel Villar Jr. was born on December 13, 1949 in Tondo, a densely populated district of Manila. He was the second of nine children of Manuel Villar Sr., a government employee, and Curita Bamba, a seafood dealer.
As a young boy, he helped his mother sell fish, crabs, and shrimp in Divisoria to help earn money to pay for his education. Villar finished his education at Holy Child Catholic School in 1962, and finished his high school education at Mapua Institute of Technology in 1966. He attended the University of the Philippines-Diliman and earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration in 1970. He returned to the same school to earn his master’s degree in business administration in 1973.”
In the early 1950s, the rich lived in the big compounds in Ermita and Pasay and what was called New Manila in Quezon City. In Tondo, you found the middle class and the poor as well. Former president Joseph Estrada also claims roots in Tondo but his family was never poor. Based on his online bio, Villar cannot really justify calling himself poor.
The Villar Tondo home, as shown on his 2009 TV commercials, was made of sturdy materials. It has lasted to this day. His father was employed while his mother operated a fish, crab and shrimp dealership in lucrative Divisoria Market. It may not be Class AB household income but it is definitely not Class E.
Proof that the Villar children were never really wanting is the fact that Manny Villar studied in private schools. The indigent kids went to public school. Enrolling one’s child in a private school is a middle class value and option. The indigent kids who do manage to finish high school would tend to immediately learn a craft in order to be able to earn money right away. Aspiring for a business administration master’s degree is not the usual post high school move of indigent kids.
Villar narrated on his 2009 TV commercial, with Boy Abunda interviewing him, that as a young kid he thought that corned beef was soupy because that was how they used to prepare it at home. This, he claimed, was their way to ensure that everybody had a share.
But the fact is that there are really two ways to cook canned corned beef. One is the dry sautéed type while the other is the soupy type where you can add potatoes and cabbage. Both the rich and the middle class enjoy corned beef both ways.
Also, poor folks, especially a family of eleven, CANNOT AFFORD to eat canned corned beef. For a family of 11 to be eating corned beef confirms that the Villar family is anything but poor. That was the case then and more so now when the poor go hungry or manage to eat only one meal a day. Up to the 1980s, people from the provinces consider it a status symbol to be eating corned beef. That is why canned foodstuffs, especially corned beef, are being displayed in the sala by many households in the provinces for these to be seen by visitors.
For Manny Villar to don this facade of being “poor” once upon a time just to gain political advantage should make every Filipino voter ponder as to what else he would be willing to do just to attain his objective.
Wisdom from a cherished
honest man
Tomorrow, our family will mark the death anniversaries of our Dad and Mom who both died on the same date, four years apart. Mom passed away on February 8, 1966 while Dad passed away on February 8, 1970.
Our Dad was the most honest person we knew. During the era of President Elpidio Quirino, a close friend and former classmate of Dad, an opportunity was given to Dad to make a cool P200,000 — a fortune th

Open Question: My husband wants to move and I don't?
My husband works 2 hours from home (he and his dad own a business and it's based where his parents live). His schedule is really wishy washy. sometimes he'll be home for the most part of 2-3 months and then sometimes he might be gone for as many as 10 days at a time (for the most part he is here at home).. Well he wants to move to where he's closer to work and in the middle of where he works and where we currently live (where my whole family lives).. Maybe I'm being unreasonable but he's asking me to uproot my whole life and our 4 year old sons and move to a town where there is noone around who we know just so he come come home at night... mind you he leaves for work at 5 am and doesn't come home until 10 p.m when he works.. that is before we wake up and after we go to bed. Because of his work hours and mine I constantly need help from my family picking up my son from school and going to different activities b/c it's just me taking care of him for the most part (even when my husband is here). Moving where he wants to I'm an hour and fifteen min from my family and 45 min from his (who wouldn't be any help to me anyways). Am I'm being unreasonable not agreeing to take our child out of school, quit my new job that I just spent years in college to get to move to a place where we will not be close to either family. I just feel like it will be the same as it is at our house as far as seeing each goes and the only change is me and the kiddie have to start whole new lives and I'll be alone with no friends and no family.

Open Question: 10 Things Men Wish Women Knew?
1. Confidence is Sexier Than the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue
How a woman sees herself is ultimately how the man will see her. Despite how media and commercialism tries to bend this rule, attraction is only partially about a woman's physical appearance. Studies have shown time and again that men's attraction to women is a combination of personality, confidence and body language. In other words, feeling sexy is being sexy!
----------------------------------------------------------
2. Leave us Alone in the Bathroom
I won't bother you if you don't bother me. This is how most men think about the bathroom. Men generally dislike being disrupted in the bathroom, no matter what they are doing. They do not want to be asked how their day was, or if they are going "number two." In addition, most men prefer their partner to close the door when they are doing their own business.
------------------------------------------------------------
3. Pornography is not a Replacement for Sex With You
Pornography and self-gratification are very common among men. So common, in fact, that the three-fourths of men who admit to it in studies could very well be the only ones telling the truth. As long as the pornography is not a crutch for a troubled relationship, it is a harmless act. If you are concerned about his involvement with porn, the best approach is to talk about it with an open mind, rather than to make accusations. Set boundaries if you must, but a closet porn-watcher is much more unhealthy than one who is open about it with his partner.
----------------------------------------------------------------
4. The Fastest Way to a Man's Heart Really is Through His Stomach
Men love being cooked for, which has absolutely nothing to do with the stereotype of the barefoot and pregnant wife slaving away over a hot stove while he's off doing men's work. It's the 21st century, and studies show men are doing more of the cooking than ever before. Men, however, continue to enjoy the privilege of a home-cooked meal. In fact, Australian research shows men sometimes prefer good food to sex. Good cooking may very well lead to the last headache you'll ever need to fake.
------------------------------------------------------
5. We Love the Sound of Your Voice in the Bedroom
You don't have to go overboard -- just let him know he's on the right track. Unless, of course, he isn't, then that is a whole different discussion. Many men base their success, in the moment, on their partners' verbal and visual cues. Studies have shown that men are much more likely to orgasm during their partners' bouts of verbal ecstasy than while quiet. Your voice may be all the Viagra he will ever need.
---------------------------------------------------------------
6. Men Aren't Sexoholics, We Just Need to Feel Wanted
While sex is a biological draw in men, it is also an emotional one. Sex is much more than just biology to a man, it is an outlying force which rates his overall satisfaction with life. Men need to feel wanted, and regular sex offers him a confidence that will carry over into everything he does. When he is rejected from sex, he feels rejected as a partner, husband and provider.
---------------------------------------------------------------
7. We Like the Idea of Romance, We Just Don't Always Know What to do
Most men have tried to be a Romeo at some point in their lives. We know we love you, we want to show you, but we are not always sure how to do it. Sometimes these efforts are hidden within such simple gestures as fixing the kitchen sink, or building a new shelf in the bathroom. Compared to long-stem roses, these offerings may not seem romantic to women, but they truly mean so much coming from your man.
----------------------------------------------------------------
8. Men Enjoy the Challenge of Getting Lost and Finding Our Way Back
This is a big one between many men and women, especially if you have been in a relationship for a long time. Men will inevitably get lost, refuse to ask for directions, and by the time they get where they were going, their partner is fuming with irritation. Relax, men have made it this far in life without anyone guiding us, so why start now. Men love the feeling of self-navigating out of a jam. Don't rob us of this proud moment, and we won't rob you of the time it takes to choose a perfect skirt to go with that blouse.
------------------------------------------------------------------
9. "Ok" is an Acceptable Answer to "How Was Your Day?"
Studies show men use the same amount of words per day as women -- we just don't always talk about the same things. At the end of the work day, the woman is anxious to tell him all about her it -- 'this happened, then that, she said this and I did that.' When she asks him about his day, he shrugs and says, "it was ok," and this drives her nuts. Remember, if we really have something to tell you, we will. Most men are reserved talkers. It's not that we don't want
10. What You See Is What You Get
Most men have run into a relationship where his partner loved most everything about him, except for those one or two things that really drove her nuts. She may have believed that she could change him, or perhaps he even told her that he could change. Truth is, for most men, what you see is what you get. If you don't like what you see, then you're probably not going to like what you get! Don't think you can change us, because you probably can't.

Open Question: dream interpretations: Drowning & Car Theft?
hubby had a dream back in december 1st one:
was at the swimming with our kids, our youngest went under he managed to pull the older one out no lifeguard in sight, suddenly someone came and pulled her out.
2nd dream:
His car was stolen from the driveway he looked and looked and finally he found it in a neighbors yard and got recovered.
these happened days apart. we thought it was relating to his "identity" (based on dream interpretation websites) but more relating to faith because he was working on the sabbath. he said after the new year he'd stop.
recently hes been acting strange, not himself and out of the blue he's asking for a divorce (origionally wanted to see a marriage councellor but i called his friend a name ... as i found her in my house when i got home from work Right after he said I had 90 days to make a change or he was leaving. of course I wasnt going to be nice to her because this happened out of the blue and they met at the olympics and thats when he started avoiding my calls. he earlier mentioned something was his cry for help. we were gonna work stuff out after he was making arguments over tiny things that didnt make sense - he started getting angry at me so I said i didnt want him bring that ___ around. he flipped out (he's never defended me that way against his family who badmouth me!) so of course what else am i supposed to think?)
anyways i realized the dream more relates to what is currently happening. hes moved out. I had a sense this was a spiritual battle as like i said all his priorities and things he valued changed overnight. I was wondering if someone could shed some better light on this? i read elsewhere drowning and dying meant loss of a business or relationship (we have a business together)
But I was wondering - if my daughter AND the car in both dreams after searching and searching got recovered ... wat do you think that represents? (havent found anything regarding "recovering" of things like this)
I dont know if it means getting rid of me will make him find himself again? or he will find himself AND the relationship will be restored? we've been together for about 6.5 years and married for barely 6 months! I cant afford the house on my own or the kids school so i might have to pull them out.
would love it if anyone had any answers so i can plan one way or the other! thanks for reading my super long details!
thanks so much for that. that is really heart breaking to hear. when guys have drifted to another girl I've usually had dreams about it. both times they've come clean and didnt actually do anything but it was dangerously close. one was the ex and the other was hubby. (back in the early days) so far no dreams yet. (yay) after realizing our fights was not emotionally/physically and realizing that it may be more spiritual (he stopped coming to church) i realized that may be why hes not himself (everyone's noticed friends family etc.) and if hes lost sight and not there (not his true self) then If the worst did happen I did tell him I'd forgive him. we're been through a lot and I think if we get through this bump it'll make us stronger. as it has in the past. =)

Open Question: What Are My Health Insurance Options When Hiring First Employee(s)?
My 7-year-old small business is about to graduate from being a home-based business to moving into a small commercial office space and hiring its first employee(s).
For the past several years, my company has had a small group plan with BCBS of FL (basically one enrollee with family coverage, including maternity.)
As the premiums are $1,000+/month, there is NO way that my business can afford to pay for even half of that level of coverage for its first employee(s).
That said, I'd very much like to offer some basic level of coverage: perhaps $200/month toward single only high-deductible HMO or PPO level coverage.
What should I be thinking about to be able to (a) keep my own family's coverage unchanged and (b) accomplish my goal to offer/subsidize a more modest level of health insurance for full-time employees?

Open Question: What are Keogh Plan Implications When Hiring First Employee(s)?
My small business is about to graduate from being a home-based business to moving into a small commercial office space and hiring its first employee(s).
In 2004 and 2005, the business had exceptionally good years and we maxed out our Keoghs. 2006-2009 saw big revenue declines, so I only needed to take a minimal salary.
Now going forward in 2010, what should I be thinking about with regard to these Keoghs and hiring the first employee(s)?
I'm relatively certain that it would be a long time before the business could afford to contribute to a Keogh for its employees... certainly nothing along the lines of what I did in 2004 and 2005.
And in the whole scheme of things, at least for my situation, it's probably much more important to be able to contribute to employee health insurance costs.
What are the rules regarding owner vs. employee Keogh participation?

I caught him many times on different dating sites saying that he is single and looking. My greencard is conditional and I have to suck it up until next year. I went into so much depression that I saw no reason to live anymore. I withdrew from the society completely and stayed indoors like a prisoner. Now recently I decided to win my depression over and change my life. I need to do the following, but I am stressed out as there is so much to do!
1) My main job= to be a 24/7 mom, cook and housekeeper
2) Walking on eggshell To keep my husband happy and make sure he is always all right to prevent the consequences
3) Fighting depression and trying to socialize and get out there with other moms
4) Trying to feel attractive by getting a lover
5) Trying to change my clothes and be more up to date and normal
6) Trying to learn healthy eating and plan accordingly
7) Struggling to get myself to exercising to change my body fat and weight and style
8) Having make up every day and dressing up nice and sexy
9) Running my home-based business and making this dream happen to reality
10) Thinking about my Green card and all the documents that are required
11) Thinking about my divorce and the types of things that could happen
12) Trying to connect with friends and family and keep our relationship alive
what if he doesn't find out Brian?

Open Question: I am a US citizen and will be starting a new job soon with a Canadian company..?
I will continue to live in the US and work from home as most of the business happens with clients who are also based here. The company will pay me monthly as an independent contractor so I will have to file my taxes under a 1099 form.
The company will pay me my base salary monthly but has agreed to also pay my medical and potential taxes owed on my base (about 30% of my base salary) monthly in a separate check.
What I want to know is whether or not the 30% that they will pay me on top of my base salary will be right around the amount that I will owe at the end of the tax year if I file as an independent contractor with a 1099. I've heard from many people that 30% is the standard but loose percentage of what is taxed as an independent contractor.

Resolved Question: How to use kitchen cabinets for an office?
Ok, so I have seen many people use kitchen cabinets for a work station (in their kitchens) with a desk-like area. I am trying to translate that same idea into my office at home (i am starting my own business and need a large workable area and dont have a very large budget). I am just wondering if anyone can give me some pointers on how to do this.
So my local hardware store sells unfinished oak base cabinets for pretty cheep (about $80 each) and that is what I would like to use.
My questions are:
What could I use for the top of the desk..could I just use wood?
If so, what type/thickness should I use?
How do I attach the top to the base cabinets?
Do I attach the top to the wall? (i know you attach the cabinets to the wall)
Any other tips or ideas would be great!
Thanks!

Resolved Question: Possible to rent while awaiting full time job (college grad, economy)?
Hello! In may 09 i graduate with a bachelors in business. I was job searching for a long time and i've been lucky to have a gained work experience in the retail industry for 6 months. I live in Raleigh, NC for that period and in bit of a pickle. My sister and i rent an apt for about 800 and i pay 300 of it. She lost her job and looking again (dumb/jealous boss) (health ed grad). We gave a 60 day notice to leave the apt if nothing comes open for her. So it's first time out the nest and i want to survive and stay up here until i find a full time for my degree. Do you think it's possible to stay here and rent an apt for 400-550 working part-time? My hours are picking up this week starting a new position with 40 hrs at same pay $8.00. My cell phone payment $55, 2 school loans temporary lowered at total of $90 until Nov. And eventually i hope to start paying my car notes (dad bought and paying now). There are no jobs back home (small town near military base). PLEASE GIVE YOUR HONEST ADVICE AND EXPERIENCE. Is it possible with groceries, small leisure, sneaking my cat in ($12 every 2 weeks for food/litter) and etc.?
And to add: Getting a 2nd part time because my new position will be from 7am-3pm 40 hrs a week. If i have to..

Resolved Question: Is this why we bailed out the banks?
Janitor Facing Eviction Cleans Up After CEO Whose Bank Bought Her House.http://news.yahoo.com/s/huffpost/20100303/cm_huffpost/481057
At first, Minneapolis janitor Rosalina Gomez said she didn't realize she was cleaning up after the CEO of the bank that bought her foreclosed home in a September sheriff's sale.
"At the beginning I didn't know he was the guy," said Gomez through an interpreter in an interview with HuffPost. "I didn't know the relationship between my house and him. I saw him one time but never talked to him."
The guy is Richard Davis, CEO of Minneapolis-based US Bank, the nation's sixth-largest bank and recipient of $6.6 billion in TARP bailout funds. On Feb. 28, Davis was set to receive an "Executive of the Year" award from the Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal at a banquet -- 11 days before Gomez and her family had to comply with an eviction order.
The Service Employees International Union, of which Gomez is a member, could not resist the opportunity to draw attention to the soon-to-be-evicted woman cleaning up after one of the bankers taking her home away (US Bank is the trustee; Chase is the mortgage servicer). The SEIU began agitating for Gomez, an effort which dovetailed with a union campaign on behalf of area janitors fighting for a better contract.
This guy has two guards who are being paid just to follow her around. I think he should have to do his own cleaning.
GoGo Girls, that is not the issue. Do you owe the banks a bail out? Is that your responsibility? Your tax money is supporting this BS.

Voting Question: My partner is thinking of quitting his work/training due to females?
I am unsure which section to post this under as it's not really about my relationship as such. But any advice would be appreciated. Basically my partner who is 26 is training to be a teacher, the school he is based at is outside our hometown and the people running his department are all women. Therefore I think he is out of his comfort zone already, his last school he was training in was in our hometown, there were males his age he got along with well etc and generally he had a really positive experience. This is his last year of training and since he has been on this new placement he has been telling me he wants to give up and just work fulltime in an office or as a labourer or something. He has been studying for 6 years and working part-time to pay rent etc etc so I think giving up would be such a waste. He is generally he really mentally strong guy - nothing phases him etc. But since this new school I have noticed a change in him.
So recently I tried to "pick" information from him as he can be a bit too proud at times to tell me his weakness/problems. He told me that the 3 female members of staff who he is working under are giving him really negative feedback after his classes. Every night he is coming home and preparing - he is always working away. He has never had negative feedback before - not to this extent anyway. So he told me what they would say to him and it sounds like they are just being ultra negative towards him and not giving him any positive feedback.
I know in life you have to take negative feedback (I work in business) so I know this VERY well. It sounds like they are being hard on him, they are not giving him any actual advice or pointers - they may aswell say "well you are a really bad teacher". Everything they are saying are nit picking and almost bit--chy - I can expect that from females though, as I am one lol.
I don't know what to do, I am worried he will give up as he is really not enjoying it, he told me he finds them really intimidating - I find this so difficult to believe as my partner is a big butch guy. Sometimes I wonder if its to do with my partner's up bringing, between his mum and dad he cannot do any wrong - they praise him all the time and always have - even if they are just popping in for two minutes they will be all over him making a fuss. Whereas when I was younger I had a more "get praise when you've done something right" action and scalded when wrong.

Voting Question: what is the adverage number of children in a childcare business?
Do you work at a child care business (not home based, but an actual child care out of home business) that cares for children between the ages of 1-5?
How many children are cared for at your business? I want an idea of what is typical. If your from North Carolina that is a plus, USA anwsers are preffered. Thank you!!
This may be true, but from what I've read these limits are "per group" which means that in a child care facility there can be any number of "groups" which could equal any number of childre.
What I am looking for is an idea of the number of children, because I'm considering a franchise that offers products to child care centers, and I'd like an idea of the market before purchasing. If you, for example, work or have your child watched somewhere where you know they watch different age groups in different groups with perhaps 15-20 kids in all that would be a useful anwser to me.

Voting Question: CNA Inquiry Legality PA?
Hi everyone! I'm posing this question on behalf of my personal friend who recently got a job working as a CNA at a personal care home in Pennsylvania. Simply put, she was accused of abusing a resident and permanently suspended from her position. The office of the aging in Harrisburg was notified of the instance, pending further investigation. We're wondering if there is some sort of protocol that needs to be followed in order to investigate such a claim. We're wondering what her options are, if any, and if there is something we can do to help the situation.
This all began a week or so ago when she was bathing a resident woman with dementia. The woman was doing fine for a while, but the water must have shocked her, and she began screaming for my friend to dry her off. She tried to calm the woman down. Meanwhile, a passerby coworker overheard the clamor and peeked in for a moment. She immediately went to her supervisor and filed a complaint, stating that my friend had sprayed the woman in the face in an attempt to shut up her complaining.
Once this complaint had been filed, several other employees were queried regarding my friend's character, work ethic, etc. Several had mentioned that my friend made threatening remarks about the residents. One isolated instance involved a separate woman, also with dementia, who wouldn't keep her feet up while she was being pushed in a wheelchair. My friend asked her repeatedly to keep her feet up, trying to explain to her that she could get hurt if she put her feet on the ground in front of the wheelchair while it was moving. The person who cited this instance told her superior that she believed my friend was actually threatening the resident with injury if she didn't listen. I believe the approximate language my friend used was something along the lines of, "Pick your feet up, Mary, you don't want to get hurt, do you?"
I think that her actions are well justified. I've known her for years, and even wrote her letter of reference myself. I know that she would never hurt someone, especially someone as helpless as a disabled resident. Her maternal instincts are exemplary for a girl her age, and I really hate to think that this kind of injustice can be done to someone who tries so hard.
Apparently, her workplace is such that the other girls working there are extremely unprofessional. It's like a group of schoolgirls being jealous over something simple like a Coach bag. I don't know much about the administration of the care home, but it can reasonably be assumed that there's some sort of order there or else they wouldn't have remained in business for very long.
My friend's residents love her, and she loves her job. Her coworkers may not like her, but she isn't there to see them. She's just there to do her job. Her superior launched an investigation into her behavior at work, and after consulting enough 'character witnesses', they felt that they had enough information to substantiate the claim, and suspended her permanently. Note that not a single person has claimed to have actually seen anything. Everything is based on what someone said about someone else. Is this type of action against an employee legal? Can she take action against her employer? Such a black mark on her record exclusively bans her from ever working in the medical industry again, and she was planning to become and RN in the future.
Any and all legal and practical advice will be greatly appreciated. Does anyone know anything about this? Lawyers? Nurses? Thanks so much!

Resolved Question: I need help with a complicated divorce situation...?
I was married for 7 years, have three kids, 2,8, and 9. My ex and I struggled for many years with intense fighting, her alcoholism, and other marital issues. It was hard for me to do, as we had kids, but I decided that divorce was best for everyone, seeing that all we did was fight. I own a house, a house that was our marital home. We were separated in November 2007, the divorce was finalized in January 2009. We could not come to an agreement in our divorce, as she demanded quite a bit. I gave in and agreed to pay $1400 monthly for child support, and the mortgage on the marital home ($900 a month) for one year, after one year, she was to begin "renting" the home from me for $600 monthly, with me paying the leftover $300. Well, a lot has happened in the past year. I own a business, which is losing a lot of money because of the bad economy, and my monthly debts (credit cards, loans, etc) are now 60 days late. I am facing bankruptcy, and CANNOT pay for the mortgage. To add to this, my ex has been flaky with rent, and states she does not have the money to pay the rent. I have not made the mortgage payment in almost 60 days. MY PROBLEM: My parents are affluent, they live a higher standard of life. They are appalled that I am going to let the home go into foreclosure, that my children will have to move to an apartment. They state that the kids do not deserve to live "like that". They have been guilting me, like I am a horrible father for making my kids live in an apartment. (Might I add, my ex is fine with the apartment idea.) Are my parents right? Am I a bad father for not providing my kids with a large, newer home? Is it bad for your kids to live in an apartment? I feel really torn, as I really want the best for my kids, and don't want to hurt them. But it is literally impossible for me to keep providing my ex and the kids with such a high standard of living that we lived when we were married. The standard of living that I had provided was largely based on credit cards, now, they are maxed out, and unpaid. I do know and admit that I was in over my head, so please, no harsh or judgmental replies.
My name is solely on the mortgage. My ex has not worked in probably 8 years. She is currently unemployed, and has no other income other than child support, ($1400 a month). I am upside down on the home, as I have refinanced quite a few times, and the value of my home has deteriorated due to the many foreclosures in my neighborhood. My ex does have sole custody, she has told me that she has stopped drinking, but unfortunately I would have no way of knowing if she is telling the truth.

Resolved Question: What are good at home consultant jobs?
I live on a military base and am wanting to find an at home consultant job like avon, mary kay, etc. My sister does it for pure romance, but I don't think i could do that kind of business. I do not work but get very bored at home all the time. I want to do something that is fun and that sells really good. I want to be able to make my own hrs and I am planning to host a party at my home once a month. I am not interested in any makeup sales. I really love candles and smell good things. Any suggestions?

Voting Question: Would you continue working for the company?
I have just started with this company (no name for now). I sell and promote products. I have recently come across a person who was perpetrating fraud. I have enough information to possibly catch the person or people involved. I went to my supervisor and gave her the information. She appears to be more upset that it has wasted so much of my time. Instead of having enough information to catch the person or people involved. I am so new in the company that I haven't learned everything about the business. So, should I continue with working for the company? Or should I leave the company. This is a home based business and I am still recovering from an illness, this makes it hard for me to work in the field that I used to be in. Would you continue working for the company?

Resolved Question: How do I open my own .com?
So, I know about go daddy, about registering my domain name with that site to open my own .com. However, I need help with the whole process. Please someone with experience. I'm opening a mini business based out of my home selling hair accessories and want to know what it would cost more or less to keep a simple .com. I just want to show my items, accept payments, have a few pages regarding myself and such, and overall just have a nice cute website and easy for people to find. Since, my business is new, I want to cut my website costs to least possible, because income right now isn't that vast. Someone please give me detailed advise in an easy understandable way. I'm pretty good with computers, so I don't think I'll have a problem. Thanks
Is there a place that can create the website for me? If i give them details and pay for it? And if go Daddy is costly, what might you suggest for less?
I was thinking paypal to accept payments. I don't get what you say when you say "web hosting". What does that mean? Where do I go about doing that?

Resolved Question: What is the logic behind barring insurance companies from denying coverage based on a pre-existing condition?
I understand people generally like this idea. (they also like free ice cream)
Isn't denying certain people coverage part of the insurance business model??
Would you give home owner's insurance to a person who's house was on fire when they tried to buy the insurance??
los..........That is completely irrelevant to what I'm asking.
gen.............."Since insurance is based on a risk pool, it won't really affect what anyone else has to pay. "
How will adding more risky people to the pool not affect what everyone else has to pay??
janet.........."So you think they should be able to seel health insurance only to people that are health and don't need it."
I think a PRIVATE company does what it thinks will make it money. Pretending that having insurance equates to getting affordable healthcare is ludicrous.
pecker......"The only way to do this would be with mandates. The risk pool would have to increase. It's actually a pretty solid model."
But wouldn't you have to pass a constitutional amendment to mandate everyone own insurance??

Voting Question: when startng a home based business, is it better to use your SSN or a EIN?
Will it make a difference with taxes?
