Apparently Twitter and Facebook are the two fastest growing social networks online.
Twitter answers the question "What are you doing?" - just like going to a meeting or a party where you're mixing with business contacts etc. A kind of "Speed-networking" or micro blogging using no more than 140 characters (akin to SMS messaging) online!
What can Twitter do for you? Twitter is like "PR" - enabling you to keep your ame and Brand 'top of mind'. It's great for direct, brief communication and will get people's attention! It can expand your Network, contacts list etc outside of your own region which in turn may lead to more business.However, as with all business communication, follow a process ! Instead of shoving your business opportunities down everyopne's throat (especially when they haven't asked for it) is just about the biggest mistake most people make when networking. you can usually accomplish more by following a simple approach and using some patience! It's important to identify like-minded people and grow your list - rather than just try to get as many people as possible to follow you. getting people to opt-in to you (so to speak) will be more productive. The more authentic your list of followers the more likely your success.
So the process is something like, people meet you on twitter, they visit your profile where they should be able to click the link to your Blog. the idea being that any brief conversation started by the Twitter message can be continued online using the benefits of Web2.0 technology i.e interactive chat online.From there, people will notice or look for your links to business sites / opportunities and deepen the relationship with you IF it appeals to them or contact you for more information!
Hint: there's plenty of robots working Twitter so one way around this is to ask people who want to Twitter with you to use "@ message" e.g. @mygoodbusiness ahead of their message - this will ensure you talk to people.

Something occurred to me yesterday when I received an email from a friend re his new online business. he didn't mention Customers!
You see just a couple of weeks ago, when he asked me "What are you doing?" and "how's it all going?” The timing was such I decided to share my latest results.....as you do!
Of course you can guess what I received - an invitation to look at his new home business ! So I did, after all, He’s a much-respected friend and I value his commentary on such things.
Now without going into detail too much it seems to be a new "Gold Coin" program. The core attribute of the business being you buy gold coins and save them. You also recruit / refer others and go about building a home business upon Gold coins - cost per coin? Around $700 presently.
But wait a minute I thought, we're in a recession and its going to get worse - so it could make good sense. Didn't I hear that the price of Gold was going down recently? Of course, it's "bound to go back up"
Then I thought some more,” What about those MLM stats I recall from all the due diligence we always talk about when assessing such opportunities? Didn't I recall a figure something like," The average network marketer recruits 2.4 people in their lifetime of their business"! I did the numbers and I wasn't impressed.
You see my friend has (I think) overlooked a key factor which is central to the success I enjoy in the opportunity which I presented to him. Is this: BUY CUSTOMERS! Plain and simple!
Here's the secret. Can you imagine for one minute your Down line’s Gold coins talking to and referring other Gold Coins? I know that sound silly but think about it. The real power in network marketing comes from the power of referral - not the perceived value of the product.
Who amongst you would not want to have CUSTOMERS who buy and buy again and again?
Will those buying Gold Coins at $700 buy again and again? Sure, some will. However, I also remember some advice I received from a Chinese girlfriend. She said, “When the Chinese want to eat they look for a restaurant where lots of people go. They look for the 'path that others beat their door '- for that means the food must be good and of reasonable price to attract the majority of people".
So what's all this got to do with the price of Fish? Nothing- but most home businesses depend on having traffic, and 'the numbers' to sustain it.
Again I thought, “How much food could the average person BUY for $700 these days?" Answer - quite a bit – but even the price of food is going up at an alarming rate.
Question: " How many Gold coins at $700 each do you think the millions of people who've just lost their job and who’ve been living close to the 'bread line' for years will BUY?" Question:" How about you?" Have you ever lost YOUR job? Have you ever faced a recession before? I'm 66 and consider myself to be lucky that I haven't really seen a recession like the 1930's - but people say we're in for one NOW! So what to do?
Well here are my thoughts.
Ten years ago I lost everything - during a minor recession - it was 1997 - the Korean Monetary crisis. I had 'huge debt to carry and overcome.
What I did was SOME DEEP THINKING!
It went something like this..........
I haven’t got any income or savings and I haven't got this week's rent...
I can't afford to eat like I used to - must cut back....
However, I must maintain my health and fitness so I can compete for work, to earn money, to survive!
What did I do? I lived off my credit card and bought the best nutritional supplements I could buy, recommended them to others so I could earn income. I joined the local swimming pool and walked there every day to swim 1000 metres, refresh myself, relax for a few moments each day and reflect upon my progress. It was very slow - but it worked!
After ten years I paid off my debt by learning to manage debt effectively. So much so, I am now again in debt but this time I am financing a business in which I BUY CUSTOMERS - who BUY PRODUCT – for THEIR health!!
The difference between this business and the earlier one? I am making money and I am doing so in ever-increasing amounts. The company markets to, and finds the customers and acquires them - through a MAP process (Media Acquired Program). I and my Ultimate Team partner with them and buy the customers in the process. Nothing has changed really when I think about it. Far too many people jump in to these business opportuntiies through word of mouth and 'silver-tongued' marketing material without really understanding what they're getting into. I'm sure you know what I mean.
What often happens after the initial 'courtship' and excitement of joining is over is the reality of ever-lessening communication from the sponsor/upline, deteriorating results from attempted enrollments and recruiting sorties which gradually lead to the realisation that there's a big 'Drudge factor ' in their business called "Work"! It's a difficult feeling to address really and subsequently becomes a prominent reason for regular 'fallout' in most MLM and Network Marketing Businesses. Even so-called Industry Experts with years of 'success' behind them can lapse into lasiness and wake up to discover half of more of their downline has dissappeard.
As someone who'se witnessed this in recent years I try constantly (or at least periodically ) to remind myself to "stay focussed". You see, without even knowing the extent of your experience in this matter, I feel sure you'll understand what I am talking about. So what better than working in a team?
Most people I think would say,"Great idea" and it is. But of course there are 'teams' and Teams". Now whilst its not my intent to deliberate on that aspect of our business, suffuce to say it's necessary to step back from time to time and observe things from an onlookers perspective.
Whilst teams can and are oftentimes very effective and motivational,it pays to keep a level head. The benefits can be great and far better than trying to "go it alone". Above all else I feel its important not to lose sight of your (and the Team's) DIRECTION! It's so easy to lose focus. Be alert to dissenting members who want to pull the team in different directions - often they've a hidden agenda to satisfy of some kind!
Be true to your own ideals and understanding of the team's Charter of values, goals and behaviour. Call your upline - reach upwards to the top leaders if you have any concerns. Many of them will welcome information that can help them avoid untimely disasters in their network and can take action to consolidate and maintain harmonious strategies etc.
All in all, a good team will stand the test of time and get back on course after 'experiencing 'stormy weather' of some kind or another whereas individuals can so often weaken, feel dejected and simplty give up.!

I've addressed this in a couple of ways over the past ten years. I exercise by taking a 15 minute walk to the local swimming pool, swimming 1000m then walking back (another 15 minutes). Not only do I feel refreshed and ready to continue with my work, I find the relaxation period in the hot-pool,after the swim, enables me to reflect on the priorities for the day and for the long-term. however, that's only one aspect of keeping a reasonable level of fitness.
You know, if you really think about it, having wellness in your life is like having health insurance. Money doesn't count for very much at all.
